Michael Sullivan was born and raised in NW Illinois. He studied aeronautical engineering, served in the US Navy in Vietnam. He has worked all over the owlrd as a poilot and mechanic for various humanitarian, environmental and commercial organization. Studied film at the Anthropology Film Center in Santa Fe, NM. He lives with his wife and five kids in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

He is the co-author of Afghan Dreams with his brother-in-law, Tony O'Brien.
