CANDICE F. RANSOM is the author of more than 60 books for young readers, including The Old Blue Pickup Truck, Pony Island, and The Christmas Dolls, which Publishers Weekly called "an unusually moving story." She and her husband, Frank, and their cat, Xenia, live in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
