About Bloomsbury Children’s Books & Walker Books for Young Readers

Bloomsbury Children’s Books USA, a division of Bloomsbury USA, was launched in 2002 as a general interest publisher of children’s books for readers of all ages. The imprint publishes such award-winning and best-selling authors and illustrators as Newbery Honor winner Shannon Hale, Julianne Moore, LeUyen Pham, Carrie Jones, Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Herbie Brennan, Alexander McCall Smith, Justine Larbalestier, Celia Rees, and E. D. Baker. In the U.K., Bloomsbury is the publisher of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

Founded over fifty years ago, Walker Books for Young Readers publishes such acclaimed books as the Caldecott Honor winner Gone Wild, written and illustrated by David McLimans, Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles, The Signers by Dennis Brindell Fradin and Michael McCurdy, Lincoln Through the Lens by Marty Sandler, the perennial favorite The Period Book by Karen Gravelle, and the ever-popular Miss Malarkey picture book series by Judy Finchler and Kevin O’Malley.

Rowling) they are the publisher of the bestselling books Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Rats, Schott's Original Miscellany, My Horizontal Life , and Kitchen Confidential ; as well as works by award-winning writers Alan Hollinghurst, William Boyd, Melissa Fay Greene, Robert Sullivan, and David Leavitt.

In 2005 Bloomsbury acquired the adult and children's divisions of Walker and Company, publishers of the bestselling books Longitude, Brunelleschi's Dome, and Salt.
